A place to arrive as you are.
Every child deserves to feel safe, included and understood, without having to earn their place through participation.
We create regulation-led experiences for children, families and the people who support them, bringing together movement, connection and practical support.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
Before we ask someone to participate, we consider what they need to feel safe.
At Inner Light, we don't measure success by how still a child sits, how closely they follow instructions or whether they join in straight away.
We look at the conditions around them.
The pace of the room. The demands being placed on them. The adult supporting them. The freedom to step away and return.
Because regulation isn't something we simply ask of a child. It's something we help make possible.
01 Families
A space where your family belongs
For children, parents and carers who need support that adapts to them, rather than asking them to adapt to the room.
Explore inclusive group sessions, individual SEND support and restorative opportunities for parents and carers.
02 Schools and Settings
Regulation belongs in everyday practice
Support for education and early years settings seeking practical approaches to regulation, participation and staff confidence.
We work with the adults, environments and routines that shape a child's day.
03 Community and Partnerships
Building more inclusive communities
Working with Family Hubs, community organisations and commissioning partners to make regulation-led wellbeing more accessible.
Together, we develop provision shaped around the people and communities it serves.
THE PERSON BEHIND INNER LIGHT
I built the kind of space I wished existed
I'm Salma, founder of Inner Light C.I.C., a mother, and a practitioner working at the intersection of regulation, movement and inclusion.
My understanding of additional needs began long before Inner Light. As a parent navigating complex needs, I came to recognise how often children, and the adults supporting them, are expected to adapt to environments that haven't been designed with them in mind.
Inner Light grew from a different question: what happens when we change the conditions, rather than continually asking the child to change?
Today, that question shapes how I work with families, schools and communities. I combine lived understanding with professional practice to create spaces where people can participate without pressure, and where the adult matters just as much as the child.
